Born in the Netherlands in 1950, Tao de Haas moved to Australia in 1973. His interest lies in developing higher thinking, empowerment and transformation.

For over twenty-five years Tao has helped inform, empower and inspire tens of thousands of people through his lectures, seminars, workshops, consulting work, executive mentoring and coaching. He is a regular keynote speaker for business organisations and has delivered educational programmes in Europe. Over the years Tao has worked to combine psychological and management sciences, together with neuroscience, emotional intelligence and systemic thinking. Tao is considered an innovative thinker. His unique difference is his ability to use psychological understanding and to think innovatively about complex and difficult issues. Tao has a unique ability to quickly uncover the core of an issue to then move beyond consensus reality thinking in order to facilitate long lasting change. He uses his creativity in supporting people to discover and express their unique gifts. He loves his work and lives his passion.

Tao holds a degree in Business and Administration (The Netherlands) a postgraduate and a Masters Degree in Social Ecology. He is a qualified and registered PACFA psychotherapist and counsellor and a clinical member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Association of NSW. Tao has been a senior lecturer at various Sydney colleges. 

Tao specialises in emotional intelligence (EI), people skills, communication, management, and leadership training. Tao makes regular appearances on national radio and television programs. He has been interviewed on all major Sydney radio stations as well as several interviews on ABC radio 2BL. ABC TV The 7.30 report did a feature on his work with students and parents in preparation for the HSC exams. Tao also made several appearances on Channel 10's 'Good morning Australia', as well as numerous appearances on Channel 7's Sunrise program were he deals with current relationship topics. He is a published author, his new book is The Delusion Delusion.

Tao also writes for The Herald newspaper as well as magazines such as Charter, published by the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.

Tao has been a senior lecturer in counselling at two main Sydney colleges. Known for his passionate, creative, inspiring, and entertaining teaching methods he received the 'most inspirational lecturer' of the year award when lecturing at Nature Care college in Sydney, Tao has also worked as an educator/trainer with the Conflict Resolution Network in Sydney.

Tao has worked with both teachers, parents and students delivering a programme in many highschools called "Achieving Your Personal Best". This programme was designed to help students and their parents mentally prepare for HSC exams. (This programme was featured on the ABC's 7.30 Report.) 



Tao is a musician and artist. He composed the music for his CD The Ultimate Stress Buster, Meditation CD together with the talented Sydney composer Matthew Jones. He has produced the music for the new CD This Too Will Pass 21 Inspirational Stories and 2 Silly a collaboration with his soul brother author and story teller Moses Aaron.
